Our story began in Kalama, Washington, where owner and master builder Dave Calhoun first turned his lifelong passion for the water into an art form. In 2004, that passion became a reality with the birth of NW Rods. Dave’s time co-hosting on television provided a unique vantage point—working directly with elite guides and anglers to learn exactly what a rod needs to perform under pressure. Today, we’ve expanded that expertise to our Blanchard, Idaho workshop with the launch of NW Fly.
